As The Blade indicated, Toledo needs new and imaginative thinking to solve its housing issues. But some historical perspective can help as well.
The tiny-house approach could be this generation’s answer to projects that helped make simple single-family shelter affordable during previous housing crises. Think of the post-war prefabricated steel Lustron homes or the mail-order Craftsman kit homes from Sears. Those also emphasized giving people a chance to own their own home.
